One week. One family. A first camping adventure that can continue long after the trip ends.
Project Hymer Europe aims to give a financially disadvantaged family — one who otherwise may not have access to a proper camping holiday — their first week-long camping experience. We are looking for thoughtful partners who can help equip the family, host their stay, and create the memories that make the week special.
More than one week away

First Camp Family is about giving a family who might otherwise never have the opportunity the chance to experience the freedom of camping. A memorable holiday does not have to depend on luxury hotels, expensive restaurants, or costly attractions; sometimes the real attraction is being outdoors, waking up to million-dollar views, cooking together at camp, and slowing down in nature.
For a family in financial need, the greatest barrier can simply be getting started. Tents, sleeping bags, cooking equipment, furniture, lighting, and other essentials create a significant upfront cost. By providing that equipment for the first trip and for the family to keep afterward, future camping holidays can become much more affordable and realistically within reach.
The goal is not simply one free week away. It is a first real camping experience, practical equipment, confidence in how camping works, and the understanding that meaningful travel can be affordable — opening the possibility of continuing to camp and explore independently.
We want each family to leave not only with memories and equipment, but with the confidence that travel, nature, and meaningful time together can remain accessible long after their first trip with us.
Camping and outdoor brands can provide tents, sleeping bags, chairs and tables, cookware, lighting, practical outdoor essentials, and other suitable camping gear.
The family uses the equipment during their first camping experience, and every donated item then belongs to them to keep — creating a lasting benefit beyond the week away.
The equipment doesn’t come back to us. The family takes it home.
Campgrounds can become a First Camp Family campground partner by providing the selected family with their week-long campsite stay.
Where appropriate and agreed, the host location may feature in relevant Project Hymer Europe content across the website, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and the annual Project Hymer Europe publication.
Other businesses and partners can add meaningful moments to the family’s camping week through suitable contributions.
Family activities, outdoor experiences, meals, local attractions, bike hire, excursions, and other appropriate additions can help make their first camping adventure truly memorable.
Help make the first week possible.
If your organization can equip, host, or add to the experience, we would be pleased to start a conversation.
Real integration, real travel, and honest documentation — the kind of association that reflects well on a brand.
Products are fitted and used as part of a real motorhome build, not staged for a photo.
The build is used on genuine journeys across Europe, in real conditions.
An ongoing restoration means partners stay associated well beyond a single post.
Considered content that shows products in a premium, credible setting.
A focused community of motorhome, restoration, and overland enthusiasts.
Honest, hands-on evaluation from someone actually living with the build.
Nigel Ramundo-Browne founded Project Hymer Europe to restore and upgrade a 2006 Hymer B 614 SL. What started as a personal ambition to rebuild a classic European motorhome has become a documented, long-term project built on doing things properly.
His approach is hands-on and honest — improving the vehicle stage by stage, testing every upgrade in real conditions, and sharing the process openly. That same standard shapes how the project works with partners: genuine products, genuinely used, and genuinely recommended.
